Halo Belt 2.0 LED Illuminated Safety Belt | New Product

Halo Belt, a San Francisco-based startup which successfully utilized Kickstarter to fund the development of their eponymously-named safety belt in August of 2012, have launched a new campaign for the Halo Belt 2.0, an LED illuminated safety belt perfect for law enforcement, highway patrol, military, roadside safety, jogging, cycling, hiking, child safety, or any scenario where visibility is of the utmost importance. The Halo Belt Company have stepped things up by making the Halo Belt 2.0 brighter, safer, and rechargeable via micro USB. In addition, it accommodates waist sizes 0 to 46. Halo Belt 2.0 has been integrated with custom high quality 3M reflective elastic and an illuminating LED fiber optic strip, which enables the end-user to stay visible regardless of their surroundings.

As the press release notes, the UN reports that there are over 270,000 pedestrians killed on the roads each year. Thus, Halo Belt 2.0 increases visibility and awareness for pedestrians. Other safety devices, such as reflective jackets, only work when light is projected directly onto the jacket’s reflectors, which causes dangerous accidents.

“Halo Belt started from the ground up, and we really owe our success to all of the backers from our past campaigns,” said Vincent Pilot Ng, Founder of Halo Belt. “We’re thrilled to offer a better and brighter Halo Belt 2.0 for less than half the price of the original Halo Belt. We believe that there should be no premium cost for safety.”

According to the press release, the first 500 backers of the Halo Belt 2.0 will receive this new product for $35. Once the first 500 are gone, the price goes up to $37. To sweeten the deal, the creators of Halo Belt 2.0 are offering the Halo X, which is essentially two Halo Belt 2.0s clipped together to form an “X” across the back and chest.
