VIDEO: Ballistic Joins Trijicon on a Helicopter Hunt for Texas Coyotes

If the Roadrunner contacted Acme, and they brought in a helo and hunter armed to the teeth, it might look a little bit like this. We’re going on a Ballistic mission, sending Frank Melloni down to Texas for the ultimate high-level shooting experience. Frank teamed up with Trijicon for the helicopter hunt dreams are made of. Unless of course you happen to be a coyote.

Trijicon Helicopter Hunt

Most don’t realize that whenever land is developed, it displaces wildlife and upsets the balance between predators and prey. This offset can become so drastic that it puts some species’ entire existence in danger within a given area. In Western Texas, the balance between deer and antelope to coyote is in deep need of correction, as the former is being eaten faster than they can reproduce. In plain words, Texas remains covered up in coyotes, feral hogs and other vermin. Hunting provides the key management tool required to keep balance in check.

Frank and the Trijicon Team put the Compact ACOG through its greatest test, dog hunting from the sky. We’ve boiled down three days of action-packed adventure into this video to give you a birdseye view of what it is like to pursue this elusive species across over 90 miles of game land. We wrap things up with an unbelievable torture test as Frank tosses an ACOG out of the helicopter from a height of 100 feet. Check out the video below to see how it fared.

Remember, Trijicon builds the ACOG and other systems to arm our military elite. So you know it will stand up to just about anything. The ACOG served faithfully throughout the War on Terror, from Iraq to Afghanistan. But thrown from a helo over the tough Texas countryside? You probably can guess the answer to this one. But watch and enjoy as we send some rounds downrange from above.
