Hi-Point Model 995 Becomes First Carbine in .30 Super Carry

Hi-Point just did something no other gun company has of yet, breaking some new ground in the process. The Hi-Point Model 995 becomes the first manufactured carbine to ever chamber the new .30 Super Carry. Now that makes for one interesting defensive carbine package!

Hi-Point Model 995 .30 Super Carry

We brought you some breaking coverage when Federal first launched .30 Super Carry. Hi-Point, also no stranger to big news, made some of their own over the last couple of years. It sent the firearm world internet community ablaze with the saga of the Yeet Cannon. While we don’t anticipate quite the awesomeness of hilarity like the Yeet Cannon, this might just make for one sneaky popular carbine release.

Our previous coverage broke down the .30 Super Carry in detail. Federal bills it as a bridge between .380 and 9mm in an EDC platform. We also know plenty of folks love to pair a carbine with their EDC pistol. When you get them running the same magazines, you build a serious self-defense and home defense plan. Will the Hi-Point Model 995 in .30 Super Carry deliver on those perameters?

A new version of the Hi-Point Model 995 carbines comes chambered in .30 Super Carry.

The Model 995 comes with a 16.5-inch barrel. The semi-automatic carbine runs on a provided 10-round magazine. The stock features a skeletonized polymer stock and pistol grip, with a ribbed polymer forend for a lightweight, durable package. The carbine also comes fitted with a front post sight and fully-adjustable rear peep. We’re old school around here, but we love sticking with irons on carbines. Of course we would run a red dot, but all things fail. So a defensive carbine with irons comprises a preferred setup. The carbine receiver fits a Picatinny rail on top for mounting optics. Another Picatinny section resides below the handguard for accessories. Finally, the barrel comes with a 1/2×28 threads for attaching preferred brake or suppressor.

The Model 995 in .30 Super Carry retails for $359. For even more info, please visit hi-pointfirearms.com.
