HK Incursion: Heckler & Koch's Full-Size Out-the-Front Automatic Knife

What’s the first thing you think of when someone says “Heckler & Koch”? It’s probably the classic HK MP5 or the new SP5 civilian variant. Or maybe it’s the HK VP9. Regardless, chances are you aren’t thinking of knives. But the latest release from HK Knives — the HK Incursion — shows the manufacturer puts as much though into its blades as its guns.

HK Incursion Details

To go along with its Mini Incursion, HK Knives just added a full-size Incursion to its lineup. It’s an out-the-front automatic knife. The new knife offers an additional inch of blade length compared to the Mini Incursion. The frame also supplies an extra 1.75 inches of holding real estate to accommodate the increased blade length. HK Knives said it did this to “supplement more demanding cutting endeavors.”

The full-size Incursion features a 0.125-inch thick 154CM stainless steel blade with a bayonet profile. The single edge blade style is the first of its kind in the HK lineup. Meanwhile, HK allows for a stone washed 3.9-inch blade or one finished with a black PVD coating. The black PVD is an additional $20. HK also hand sharpens and hones each blade to a keen edge.

HK cased the Incursion’s blade with a 6061-T6 anodized aluminum frame; this adds minimum bulk during carry and without compromising overall strength. As for the trigger, the Incursion uses a double-action, ambi trigger. HK built it to deploy and retract with serious speed. The knife also features a carbide glass breaker and a deep carry, reversible pocket clip.

The knife is available in matte black or gray frame configurations. MSRP ranges between $289.95 and $329.95. That $329 price point is for the all black Night Fision model. Night Fision included a tritium-infused trigger option for quick action in little to no light situations. The full-size Incursion is available through HK’s partnership with Hogue Knives.
