Ohio-based gun maker HM Defense has announced the release of its Avenger M308 rifle.
Built in response to customer demand for a larger .308 Win / 7.62 NATO version of the company’s HM15 Monobloc, the Avenger M308 sports an 18-inch, 4150 chrome moly steel barrel with a 1:10 twist ratio and a rifle-length gas system; custom HM10 billet lower receiver CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum; forged 7075-T6 upper with a forward assist and M4-style feed ramps; and a 15-inch free float 1913 Picatinny rail with a Magpul M-LOK mounting system.
Also included in the Avenger M308 is an extended AR-10 charging handle; custom mil-spec HM lightweight stock; three-pound AR trigger; stainless steel barrel nut; HM Custom CNC muzzle break; Magpul MOE grip; AR-10 bolt carrier group and an overall weight of eight pounds, fifteen ounces.
“The Avenger offers the same high level of innovation and capability found in our HM15 rifle now in the larger HM10 platform” HM Defense GM Clay Barker said in the press release. “We are confident that our customers will be pleased with the premium features and value of our new rifle.”
Available in three Cerakote finishes—black, midnight tungsten and flat dark earth—and shipping with a 10-round Magpul Gen3 .308 Win/7.62 NATO mag, the Avenger M308 has a suggested retail price of $1,895.
