Further expanding its line of optics with Solar Failsafe technology, Holosun adds the SCS 320. The SCS line already provides direct mounting with select S&W, Glock, Walther, and H&K pistols. However, the 320 adds SIG Sauer to the list with direct fitment for the P320 and other DPP footprint applications. With this latest addition, SIG goes solar.
The Holosun SCS 320 for the SIG Sauer P320
Constructed of 7075 T6 aluminum, the SCS 320 housing features an IP68 waterproof rating. As a result, the rugged optic can withstand submersion in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes and still operate. For this reason, the SCS 320 can withstand the same rigorous conditions your SIG can.
As with the previous models, the SCS 320 is designed to mount directly to its corresponding pistol platform. Likewise, the sides feature cocking serrations that match the SIG P320 to enhance slide manipulation and match the overall aesthetics. Although it is designed specifically for the P320, it will directly mount to any firearm with the DPP footprint.
With a coated anti-reflective 0.90×0.63 window, the SCS 320 features Holosun’s MRS (Multi Reticle System). The reticle system utilizes Super Green (540nm) LED technology and allows users to select the reticle based on operational needs. This includes your choice of 2 MOA dot only, 32 MOA circle only, or 32 MOA circle with 2 MOA dot. Likewise, the SCS 320 features a low-profile deck for co-witnessing with the SIG P320.
The 320 provides windage and elevation adjustments at 1 MOA per click, with a 30+/- MOA travel adjustment. Adjustments are made at the adjustment points on the side and top of the housing. In addition, the parallax-free SCS 320 offers unlimited eye relief for fast target acquisition and follow-up shots.
Self-regulating reticle brightness automatically adjusts the brightness based on ambient light to spare the charge of the 20,000-hour battery. However, you can override this feature in 30-minute increments for a consistently bright reticle. As with the entire SCS line, the 320 features Holsun’s internal solar rechargeable battery. Correspondingly, a battery life indicator alerts you when it is time to charge the unit.
Editor’s Note:
The addition of solar charging to optics is definitely a game changer. However, it can also be easy to forget to charge it. So, much like a battery-operated optic, it is important to regularly monitor the charge and charge it as necessary.
The best method for ensuring that your optic stays charged is to take advantage of sunny days and hit the range. Regular range trips will ensure that your optic is charged and that you are on point when you need it most.
