An armed intruder was shot dead by a neighbor who heard the screams of the home’s resident.
Pima County sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Suitt stated the neighbor and the intruder exchanged gunfire outside the home southwest of Tucson. He says the neighbor heard sounds of distress and went to investigate. No one else was shot, but Suitt didn’t know if anyone was injured in the initial home invasion. He says homicide detectives are continuing to investigate.
Suitt says more than one intruder was involved, but he didn’t know how many. Deputies unsuccessfully tried to perform life-saving measures on the wounded man. No identities have been released.
