In Arlington Heights, Illinois with a huge demand for training in handling firearms, instructors are having difficulty finding shooting-range and classroom space that are available at the same time for the 16 hours of training the state of Illinois is requiring to authorize the carrying of concealed weapons in public.
Illinois State Police officials have accepted thousands of applications since the process opened beginning of January. But those applicants need training first, and instructors are having difficulty finding the space to execute the training.

“I need to schedule classroom and range training together, and that’s hard right now,” said James Monk II, a concealed-carry instructor from Naperville.
