IWI NEGEV LMG (VIDEO)

As the newest model of the NEGEV family of LMGs, the NEGEV NG7 shares most of the components with the NEGEV 5.56 mm caliber—IWI’s exceptionally successful and reliable LMG, which is deployed around the world in dozens of countries, and has been combat-proven in a number of wars in a variety of locations. The NEGEV NG7 includes a semi-automatic firing mode that enables accurate fire in combat situations, including ambush, Close Quarter Battle (CQB), and when shooting via telescope. This is the only 7.62mm caliber LMG in service today that is capable of pinpoint, single bullet shooting. It provides four safety mechanisms to minimize unwanted fire. In automatic mode, rate of fire is over 700 bullets per minute.

Weighing less than 8 kg, the NEGEV NG7 is much lighter than most of the other 7.62 mm LMG’s in use by today’s infantries. The NEGEV NG7 can be used on a variety of mounts, including special mounts for helicopters, land vehicles, and naval vessels. Features include a gas regulator for additional power in harsh conditions such as mud and dirt, tritium night sights, and Picattiny rails for optical and other devices. Drum or belt-chain fed, the NG7 fires from an open bolt position and is easily dismantled for maintenance in the field.
