Carr’s 1988 FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser Build

Carr drives a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser and it caught our eye for a number of reasons. We’re fans of Land Cruisers. Previously, we’ve covered Rodney Willis’ ADV80 — a custom 1992 FJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser. Carr’s FJ62 is certainly on that same level of awesomeness.

A rousing debate continues between protagonists James Reece and his friend Raife Hastings over Toyota Land Cruisers versus Land Rovers from their days in Mozambique. As a gesture of generosity to Reece, the Hastings/Thornton family have Reece’s 1988 FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser restored and updated by ICON4X4 with a 376-cubic-inch, 430-horsepower General Motors LS3 V-8.

The final build is indeed what we see with Carr’s real-life Land Cruiser. ICON4X4 is, in fact, a real company. And the good people at ICON4X4 did quite a job on Carr’s actual build.
