For “gun guys,” nailing down the tactical and technical gunplay aspects are the most important parts of most action films. Hollywood, historically, does not do a very good job of this. Actors are meant to provide realism to their roles, but simply don’t have the real-world training veterans do.

So what happens when you replace actors with vets for some realism? What if Hollywood subbed out Chris Pratt in “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” for guys like Travis Haley and Garand Thumb?
Thanks to an ambitious Jurassic Park fan film, we now have our answer.
Jurassic Park Fan Film Premise
Officially titled “Jurassic Park Exodus,” the fan films is chock full of veterans, adding some realistic flavor to the mix.
The plot is similar to that of the actual “Jurassic Park” franchise. Exodus puts a team of spec ops contractors on the island in Costa Rica to do battle with some dinos that are lose and causing chaos. Various twists and turns unfold in the 25-minute short film.
Special effects and acting aren’t what one would want from a Hollywood blockbuster, but that’s because Exodus had nowhere near the same time or budget of a blockbuster. A team put the fan film together in a very short amount of time.
According to the YouTube page, “With only five days in Hawaii on a shoe string budget, our vision for Jurassic World Exodus came to life. It wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication, passion and long hours from the entire crew, locals and supporters.”
Jurassic Park Fan Film Vets
Among the short film’s stars are the aforementioned Haley and Thumb. Haley is a veteran Force Reconnaissance Marine with 15 years of real-world experience. He is also founder of Haley Strategic Partners, the training facilities of which makes an appearance in the film. Thumb is active-duty military with a serious knack for and knowledge of firearms. Check out Thumb’s YouTube channel if you feel like getting lost in quality gun content for hours on end.
Next on the list is Gregory Wong, AKA Spartan117GW on social media. Won is a U.S Army Paratrooper veteran. He gets to show off those skills in the “Jurassic Park: Exodus.”
Shannon Corbeil is currently an actress, but is a veteran first. According to IMDB, Corbeil “joined Air Force ROTC immediately after 9/11” before eventually commissioning into the U.S. Air Force.
Baret Fawbush rounds out the crew of gun guys and gals. Fawbush, better known as Truexodus on social media, is a firearms instructor and founder of TruStandard training.
Jurassic Park Fan Film Guns & Gear
With the crew in place, next comes the tactical goodies. There were plenty of firearms used that drive the gun porn meter up a notch. The kicker? They were all Airsoft — not that you can tell. Here is a brief list of some of the firearms used, with a links to the Airsoft versions:
