Kahr Firearms Group Unveils New 9mm Tommy Gun

A 9mm Tommy Gun? You better believe it. Kahr Firearms Group has announced it is rolling out a 9mm version of the legendary Thompson submachine gun under its Auto-Ordnance brand, marking—according to the press release—the first time in over 100 years that the Chicago Typewriter has been offered in the smaller caliber.

This deluxe Thompson 9mm model T5-9L20 sports all the bells and whistles that John T. Thompson included in the original when he first introduced it back in 1915. The frame and receiver are machined from a solid billet of aluminum, while the buttstock, grip and vertical fore grip are all made from American Walnut.

Meanwhile, the finned barrel on this Tommy Gun is 16.5 inches long, and 18 inches with the compensator. The overall length of the gun is 41 inches. A front blade sight and an open rear adjustable sight is also included.

“Fans of the Thompson product line have been asking about a 9mm for a number of years,” stated Frank Harris, VP Sales and Marketing. “We took our time to make sure that we got it perfect before we introduced it to the market. We really think that this 9mm Thompson is going to be a hit with shooting enthusiasts across the globe.”

Shipping out with one 20-round stick mag, the 9mm Tommy Gun is available at a suggested retail price of $1,364.
