SHOT Show 2019 has come and gone, and with it, we saw some actual innovation. One of the “talks of Vegas” was the Kel-Tec CP33 pistol. Why? Because it holds 33+1 rounds of .22LR in a quad stack magazine. Not to mention there is an extension reportedly on its way for 50 rounds.
Kel-Tec CP33 Features
As far as handguns go, we really like this one. The standard CP33 comes with a 33-round magazine, flush fit to the pistol grip. No additions necessary — it is 33 rounds right out of the box. According to various reports, the 50-round extension is coming sometime in 2019.
Kel-Tec designed the CP33 (Competition Pistol 33) with competition shooting in mind. Along with the 33+1 capacity, the CP33 has a 19-slot Picatinny style top rail, running the length of the dust cover. Need a space for optics? With the picatinny rail and Magpul M-Lok slot, it’s there and then some.
The CP33 target pistol comes with adjustable fiber optic sights, with adjustments for elevation and windage. Additionally, the sights have a 9-inch sight radius, aiding in long range shooting. Featuring a threaded barrel, it is also suppressor ready.
Designed for both right- and left-handed shooters, the CP33 features an ambidextrous heel catch magazine release and safety lever. On the back of the receiver, a rear charging handle chambers a .22 long rifle round from the high-capacity magazine.
At 10.6 inches in overall length and 1.5 pounds unloaded, we imagine competition shooters will be quite happy with this great gun from Kel-Tec.
If that’s not enough to like, MRSP on the CP33 is a low $475. For more information, please visit KelTecWeapons.com.
