KelTec adds a little brother to the KSG bullpup line with its .410 bore KSG410. The pump-action shotgun promises to be the thinnest and shortest .410 bullpup shotgun in the world. In addition, featuring the dual tubes of the original KSG, the shotty delivers a 5 + 5 + 1 capacity.
The KelTec KSG410 .410 Bullpup Shotgun
Building on an all-steel receiver, the KSG410 features a polymer interface, including the grip, pump handle, and carry handle. Measuring an overall length of 26.1 inches, the company claims the shotgun to be the shortest .410 bullpup in the world. Likewise, at only 1.7 inches wide, it also comes in as the world’s thinnest .410 bullpup to boot.
Utilizing the carry handle of the KS7, the handle on the KSG410 doubles as the sighting solution. Featuring a massive triangle fiber-optic front bead, the sight is hard to miss. However, the handle does not include any kind of alternative optic mounting solutions, like a Picatinny rail.
But, there are three M-Lok slots along each side for mounting a light, laser, or other accessories. Likewise, the handle can be removed and interchanged with an available Picatinny rail, for installing various optics.
Along with being thin and short, the KSG410 is surprisingly lightweight, weighing a total of 5.4 pounds, unloaded. However, the lighter platform does not translate to heavier recoil as the shotgun promises near recoil-less operation, according to the company. This is mostly due to the bullpup platform and already easy on the shoulder .410 bore.
Featuring a 3-inch chamber, the KSG410 accepts 2 ¾-inch and 3-inch .410 shells. Correspondingly, KelTec managed to squeeze the dual steel tubes of the original KSG into the thin profile of the bullpup. As a result, it delivers a capacity of 5 + 5 + 1, 3-inch shells, delivering more shots downrange between reloads.
