One armed robber is dead and three others are facing charges after a failed robbery attempt in Carter County, Kentucky over the weekend.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the four suspects broke into a home in Olive Hill at around 8:18 a.m. on Saturday and began stealing cash and valuables.
At some point during the robbery, the homeowner managed to grab his gun and confront the suspects, shooting and killing 48-year-old Kevin J. Helton. Two other suspects, Cindy Puckett, 41, and Jonathan Goodan, 45, immediately fled the scene but were caught shortly thereafter by police. Another suspect, 28-year-old Brittany Couch, remained at the house and was arrested by the authorities.
Puckett, Goodan and Crouch are all facing first-degree robbery charges. Kentucky State Police are still investigating the case and have yet to charge the three suspects with Helton’s death.
There were multiple people, including children, inside the home at the time of the incident, but thankfully, nobody was injured.
