In 2016 Kimber introduced its first-ever production revolver, with the K6s (below). The lightweight platform experienced popularity due to features like its 10-pound non-stacking, double-action trigger and internal hammer design. Now Kimber releases its little brother, the K6xs, with the same great features in a more concealed carry-friendly design.
The Kimber K6xs Revolver
Building on a lightweight aluminum alloy frame, the K6xs weighs in at an overall 15.9 ounces. Featuring a 2-inch stainless steel barrel, the whole platform measures 6.8 inches, with a width of only 1.4 inches. Correspondingly, a Silver KimPro II finish covers the frame, while the barrel is protected by a glass bead finish.
With the integral rear sight and internal hammer, the K6xs is dialed in for snag-free concealed carry. Furthermore, the integral rear sight works with the orange dot front sight for easy target acquisition. In addition, a Hogue black rubber Cobblestone grips with finger grooves and Kimber logo provides the interface to the K6xs.
Chambered in .38 Special +P, the K6xs offers a six-round capacity—the only revolver in its class to do so, according to the company. Rounds are sent downrange via the non-stacking, double action only trigger with factory 10-12-pound pull.
“The new K6xs is born from the highly successful K6s .357 Magnum revolver. It was designed to be a superior .38 Special +P concealed carry option with its smooth double-action trigger pull and slim six-round profile. This is certain to be a winner among the less feature-rich, common five-round revolvers in this class,” said Ron Dudzic, Senior Director of Kimber product development.

On January 22, 2016, Personal Defense World reported:
K6s: Kimber’s First Production Revolver
The K6s is not just a new product for Kimber—it’s an entirely new platform for the company. Specifically, it’s Kimber’s first production revolver. The stainless steel K6s measures only 1.39 inches in diameter across the cylinder, making it arguably the thinnest snub-nosed, six-round .357 Magnum/.38 Special revolver currently on the market.
Kimber is particularly proud of the trigger pull, which it says features a “no-stacking” take-up that breaks at around 10 pounds in double action. The snag-free internal hammer design precludes single-action firing.
Sighting is achieved via an interchangeable rear sight that sits near the end of a sighting groove that leads to the front ramp sight. The push-button cylinder release facilitates fast reloading, and is easily reached by the thumb of your shooting hand, which rests on an ergonomically designed grip that features multiple textures for non-slip retention (especially under magnum recoil).
Look for a limited-edition first run of only 1,000 units, which will be followed by the full production run, and a future version that features a laser-enhanced grip.
