The KLAX: A Multi-Tool Axe Head by Klecker Knives

Klecker Knives, a family-owned business run by the father and son team of Glenn and Nathan Klecker, is introducing the KLAX: a multi-tool axe head with a unique clamping system which allows the head to be attached to the handle quickly and easily in the field. Klecker Knives has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this project. Check out the video below for more information.

There are four models in the KLAX line: Lumberjack, Woodsman, Feller and Ti-KLAX. The first three are all made from heat treated SUS420J2 stainless steel. The full-featured Lumberjack boasts the aforementioned clamping system, as well as a bottle opener, hex bit driver, lanyard hole, caribiner, ax blade, thumb jumping, hammer, ruler and a scraper.

The Woodsman is the mid-level model which comes with less features than the Lumberjack, and the Feller is their most rustic variant with just the basic features. The Feller does not include the clamping system. The Ti-KLAX, meanwhile, is made from Ti-4452813 titanium and it has been anodized.

The KLAX is suitable for a number of different applications, including hiking, climbing, camping, bushcraft, and survival.

The MSRP for the KLAX Lumberjack is $160.00. The Woodsman will be available for $135.00, the Feller will go for $115.00, and the Ti-KLAX will sell for $550.00. Expected delivery date is October 2014.
