Panteao Productions already has a bulletproof instructor lineup, but the Columbia, South Carolina-based company is kicking things up a notch by adding another highly respected name to its roster: Kris Paronto.
Kris Paronto, or “Tanto” is he is nicknamed in security circles, is the real deal, and his resume speaks for itself. To start, he’s a former Army Ranger from 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and private security contractor with deployments in South and Central America, the Middle East and North Africa. He also has experience working with the U.S. government’s Global Response Staff, where he conducted low profile security in high threat environments all over the world.
“Tanto” is perhaps best known as being part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya that claimed the lives of four Americans. During that incident, “Tanto” helped to save over 20 lives while fighting off terrorists from the CIA annex during a 13-hour period. The book “13 Hours,” written by Mitchell Zuckoff and the surviving members of the annex security team, including “Tanto,” is based on that attack.
Paronto served four years in the U.S. Army and four years in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he reached the rank of Sergeant before becoming a commissioned officer in 2003. He started working for Blackwater Security Consulting in 2003 and continued on as a security contractor until 2013.
“We’re very happy to be working with Tanto on new instructional videos that he’ll be featured in. Tanto came highly recommended and after meeting him in person, I knew we made the right decision,” said Fernando Coelho, President of Panteao Productions.
The first video to feature Paronto is scheduled to be filmed in March 2017. To learn more about him, visit http://www.kristantoparonto.com
