As all of us are all too painfully aware, the prices of everything are escalating. Finding a real bargain in today’s market is almost unheard of. However, at the recent SHOT Show, held in Las Vegas this past February, I visited the Linville Knife and Tool Company display booth and discovered several outstanding knives and knife kits at remarkable prices.
Since my main involvement with cutlery comes by way of various outdoor endeavors, it was no surprise that my interest was drawn immediately to the Linville fixed-blade Warthog model. This neat looking full-tang knife is crafted from AUS8 stainless steel and measures 8 inches in length overall. The actual cutting edge is 2-3/4 inches, with a pronounced sweeping belly. At first glance, the knife appears to be primarily a skinner. However, the blade is pointed enough to be fully functional in more general cutting assignments, such as field dressing and camp work.
