Last year at the 2018 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, LMT Defense brought its M203 37mm Flare Launcher. We weren’t able to fire it. Bummer, right? But the possibilities were exciting. At this year’s Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, however, LMT made up for it and then some, bringing a modified M203 Golf Ball Launcher. Yes, you’re reading that correctly.

LMT Golf Ball Launcher Details
As LMT’s Joe Hajny told us, the company took its 37mm flare launcher and modified it to shoot golf balls. How? It uses little .22 blank cartridges for power. Insert one into the chamber, load the golf ball into the bore, and then push it down until it reaches the breach. Voila! Fire away.
“This is our look at how a serious LE/military contract company can have fun with the civilian market,” Hajny said.
We fired golf ball after golf ball and it never got old. And there’s some serious distance here. We tried for distance records and easily cleared 350 yards. On a line drive, the launch would drop anything standing directly in front of it out to 100 yards.
