The Desert Eagle is easily one of the most recognizable firearms still in production. Magnum Research has been building the hulk sized pistols since 1979 and the guns remain popular with enthusiasts, bear-country hunters and collectors.

Available in .50 AE, .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum, the gas-operated semi-automatic hand cannon offers shooters plenty of power and quick follow up shots.
Magnum Research’s previous inventory of Desert Eagles includes Tiger Stripe models in both gold and black. They’re as sexy as they are powerful. And now a new version is joining the previous two models with the Magnum Research White Tiger Desert Eagle.
Magnum Research White Tiger Desert Eagle Details
I got my first look at the Magnum Research White Tiger Desert Eagle at the 2018 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. This came on the heels of Magnum Research giving us an exclusive look at the new .429 Desert Eagle cartridge. Just one surprise after the next.
According to the manufacturer, the new White Tiger Desert Eagle will formerly launch at the 2019 SHOT Show in January.
Based on Magnum Research’s standard stainless model, the handgun features a new look for those who appreciate a good conversation piece. Initially available in .50 AE, both .44 and .357 Magnum versions will follow.
“Originally we had a gold tiger striped gun and it turned out to be one of the most popular Desert Eagles ever,” said Jodi DePorter, Kahr Arms Director of Marketing. “From the gold we did a black tiger strip and because that was so popular we figured why not capitalize on it with the White Tiger Stripe.
“We use our stainless gun with the rail on the bottom dust cover,” DePorter added. “We do these in house and have one of our more patient craftsmen painstakingly mask off the gun before sand blasting them. The result is cosmetically pleasing and sure to be the envy of your shooting friends.”
White Tiger Testing
I tested the White Tiger Desert Eagle in Montana at the 2018 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. It’s obviously an eye pleaser; if you can’t tell from the photos above, then you may want to get your vision checked.
And while looks are nice, performance is still paramount. The White Tiger Desert Eagle performed exactly as expected. This wasn’t my first rodeo with a Desert Eagle, but I kept on target with repeated accuracy at 25 yards.
There’s something special about firing a Desert Eagle. Feeling the kick and hearing that loud “ping” never gets old. It’s a rewarding experience. If you’ve never shot one, you should. While you’re at it, why not add a little flare to the experience? The White Tiger Desert Eagle from Magnum Research certainly fits that billing.
Expected MSRP is approximately $1,900.
