Designed for the “range of activities” its customers “engage in every day,” the Magpul eyewear lineup consists of three models thus far: the Terrain, the Summit and the Explorer. Each is built from TR90NZZ thermoplastic material. These sunglasses also feature oleophobic-treated lenses to repel liquids and provide oil, sweat, sunscreen, and other chemical protection; 8-base wrap and over molded anti-slip rubber nose and temple pads to stop slippage; coated stainless steel pins for hinge functionality; and low-profile temples that fit with over-the-ear hearing protection and communication headsets.
The Terrain and Summit have a Z87+ ballistic rating. The Explorer, meanwhile, is rated for Z87.1 ballistic impact protection. All three models come black, gray and tortoise shell frame colors, along with a number of different lense color options. In addition, the lenses are available polarized or non-polarized, Magpul says.
Magpul’s Terrain is designed for medium to large faces. The Summit is geared toward those with small to medium faces. The Explorer is the best all-around option, suiting most faces. MSRP is $109-$159 for the Terrain and Summit. The Explorer is priced at $99-$149.
