The Ruger PC Carbine is arguably the best pistol-caliber carbine you’ll find on the market, or so says our brethren at Tactical-Life.com. We honestly don’t disagree with them. With an interchangeable magazine well capable of utilizing Ruger or Glock magazines, the takedown carbine earned its high marks. So when Magpul decided to throw its ingenuity into the Ruger PC Carbine in the form of the all-new Magpul PC Backpacker Stock, we were obviously excited.

Magpul PC Backpacker Stock Details
With both ergonomics and portability in mind, Magpul developed its new PC Backpacker Stock specifically for the Ruger PC Carbine. As far as the build goes, Magpul constructed the stock out of its own advanced polymer. It features an ergonomic handguard with M-LOK slots at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. It also features interchangeable cheek risers to accommodate for various sighting options.
The PC Backpacker stock features an MOE SL rubber butt-pad; the pad offers an anti-slip surface that increases impact protection. It’s also compatible with the MOE SL Enhanced Rubber Butt-Pad for an additional 3/8-inch LOP.
Clever Storage
Then comes the storage and transportation aspects of the stock, which we really like. The PC Backpacker Stock uses a unique locking interface. It attaches the barrel assembly to the receiver. This allows for storage during transportation while maintaining convenient assembly from the stowed position. By including multiple QD cup mounting locations, Magpul’s stock allows shooters to transport the Ruger PC Carbine in either the broken down or assembled state with the Magpul Sling Mount Kit–Type 1 and Type 2.
On top of that, Magpul also integrated two convenient storage locations. First is a water-resistant grip storage compartment; it provides an at-hand location for a small multi-tool, survival equipment, or cleaning equipment. Second is a riser section compartment ideal for a single pistol magazine, fitting up to the PMAG 21 GL9.
This is a great solution for hunters or outdoorsmen. MSRP on the PC Backpacker Stock is $149.95. The only holdup is that it won’t be available until fall 2020, so keep your eyes peeled. For more information, please visit Magpul.com.
