As more and more optics hit the streets, optic compatibility on firearms becomes almost expected—including on shotguns. However, replacing your current shotgun platform just to add optic compatibility is not always a legitimate option. For this reason, Mesa Tactical, a name synonymous with shotgun accessories, releases its Reflex Sight Mount for the Beretta 1301 Tactical Shotgun.
The Mesa Tactical Reflex Sight Mount for Beretta 1301 Tactical Shotgun
Designed to accept pistol-style reflex sights, the mount is CNC machined out of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. Likewise, the mount features a Type 3 hard coat anodized finish in flat black. Installation of the mount is easy via the drilled and tapped receiver holes that are fit for the Beretta model. As a result, no gunsmithing or alteration of your shotgun is necessary.
The Reflex Sight Mount includes the Trijicon RMR footprint, and is ready to accept a host of popular optic models. In addition, it is designed to seamlessly co-witness with the Beretta 1301 Tactical ghost ring sights.
Although this is not the first reflex sight mount available through the company, it is the first stand-alone model. Also available are the company’s SureShell carriers, available in a six-shell configuration only, with the RMR footprint mount. However, the decision to release a mount only is a result of a number of customer requests.
“The Mesa Tactical SureShell® carriers with Trijicon RMR mounts were the surprise hit of 2023. But many customers expressed a desire to run reflex sights without a shell carrier. With this announcement we are making it easier for shotgun operators to run RMR footprint sights, in a streamlined, economical, and modular manner.” stated Mitch Barrie, President of Mesa Tactical.
Currently, the mount is only available for the Beretta 1301 Tactical. However, the company promises to add the Benelli M2 Tactical and M4 soon.

When selecting an optic for a shotgun, consider models that feature a ring/dot reticle. The reticle’s ring acts as a makeshift bracket for the shogun’s spread pattern at distance.
