Major League Baseball (MLB) is cracking down on counterfeits.

MLB’s annual All-Star Game takes places Tuesday, July 15, at Target Field in Minnesota with Home Run Derby being held the day before.

This year MLB will be teaming up “with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies” in an attempt to limit any counterfeit merchandise or tickets being sold in Minneapolis.  According to a release from MLB, “undercover investigators will be searching for problematic merchandise throughout the Twin Cities during MLB All-Star Week.”

Law enforcement officials will aggressively enforce local ordinances, permit requirements and state and federal counterfeit laws during All-Star Week in order to protect businesses and consumers from fraud.

The MLB said fans who want official merchandise should be looking for a “hologram sticker or holographic hangtag with raised red baseball stitching design” or a “sewn-in or screenprinted label or notice identifying a licensee that has been authorized by Major League Baseball Properties to produce “official” merchandise.”
