Fans of the shotgun just got a pair of higher-end versions to choose from, designed in collaboration with the legendary Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch fame. These Mossberg Thunder Ranch shotguns feature a distinctive Cerakote finish along with the Thunder Ranch logo. More importantly, the shotguns include a feature set built to run, whether for duty, defense or sport.

The Thunder Ranch package comes on a new 590 and 940 Pro platform. Each shotgun includes a patent-pending optic-cut receiver for mounting low-profile microdot sight. The Patriot Brown Cerakote finish delivers a unique look and styling. Chambered in 12-gauge, the shotguns each run up to 3-inch shells.

590 Thunder Ranch
Based on the legendary 500, the 590 Thunder Ranch includes the non-binding twin action parts and steel-to-steel lockup that made the pump-action famous. It maintains dual extractors, a drilled and tapped receiver and ambidextrous top-mounted safety. A convenient clean-out magazine tube with cap adds utility. A black synthetic stock employs a corncob-style forend. An 18.5-inch cylinder bore barrel wears a fiber-optic front sight.
The 590 Thunder Ranch utilizes a seven-round capacity. Suggested retail is $662.
940 Pro Thunder Ranch
The 940 Pro features Mossberg’s redesigned gas-operating system designed to run u to 1,500 rounds between cleanings. Internal parts include corrosion resistant finishes, including a nickel-born coated gas piston, magazine tube, hammer and sear. Key features include an enlarged, beveled loading port and elongated, pinch-free elevator. A bright orange anodized follower, extended knurled charging handle and paddle-style bolt release add appeal.
