The N8 Tactical Magna-Clip Pocket Magazine Carrier
Constructed of a high-strength polymer, the Magna-Clip houses three strong neodymium-grade magnets as the retention method. Specifically, there are two magnets on the back and one on the wing. As a result, the rear magnets hold the magazine to the base while the wing magnet keeps the magazine upright.
Featuring an L-shaped body, the carrier accommodates a wide range of metal or metal-lined magazine designs and sizes. For this reason, the carrier accepts magazines from any pistol using magazines with metal characteristics, including, but not limited to:
The Magna-Clip utilizes a strong spring-steel pocket clip to hold the carrier in the pocket. Featuring a subdued black oxide finish, the clip looks like an ordinary pocket knife clip.
To use the Magna-Clip place the magazine with the rounds facing forward, away from the side wing. Then place the carrier into your support side pocket. When you need the magazine, just grasp it firmly and give it a strong pull.
In the event of a tactical reload you do not need to remove the carrier to place your partially loaded magazine into the carrier. Just slip it into your pocket and the Magna-Clip will draw it into place.
Editor’s Note:
There is some debate about whether or not magnets have an effect on ammunition. From my personal research, it looks to be a non-issue. So, using magnets to retain your magazine shouldn’t cause any issues with the function of your ammunition in typical situations.
However, I don’t recommend magnetic retention for a pistol because it can magnetize the steel. This could attract small metal particulates inside the firearm and cause issues. Likewise, magnetizing the frame and other steel components could potentially cause operational issues within the action.
