A new concealed weapons class is being offered in Beaver, West Virginia.
According to the Register-Herald, Bob McComas — a retired West Virginia State Trooper — will instruct a concealed weapons class on October 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department.
McComas is a NRA-certified former firearms instructor for State Police cadets. Students will be taught everything from class instruction to the firing range, the Register-Herald reported. Once the course is completed, you’ll get a concealed carry certificate which you need in order to get your permit license through a local sheriff’s office.
The class is also open to those who do no wish to get their license but want to learn more about using a firearm and firearm regulation.
Students who want a license must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the concealed weapons class. Bringing your own firearm and ear protection is advised. If you don’t own a firearm, one will be provided.
As the Register-Herald reports, the deadline for signing up is October 8. To register, call 304-222-0067. The cost of participating is $50. All proceeds from this class will benefit Raleigh County Animal Rescue (RCAR). Hot dogs, soft drinks, coffee and baked goods will be available for sale on the day of the class.
