New for 2016: Kimber Expands Its Micro Lineup—And Adds A 9mm!

Kimber’s Micro Carry pistols are incredibly popular. What’s not to like about an ultra-compact, 1911-style pistol chambered in the easy-to-shoot .380 ACP? These pistols are easy to carry discreetly while offering enough stopping power for most self-defense situations. Of course, to satisfy demand, Kimber keeps increasing the number of variants available in its Micro lineup, with three new offerings this year.

The most noteworthy Micro is not even a .380 ACP! Kimber has pulled out all the stops to unveil the Micro 9—a 1911 that is only a tad larger than the company’s .380s but packs 6+1 rounds of the more powerful 9mm. Stainless steel, two tone and Crimson Carry (fitted with Crimson Trace Lasergrips) versions will soon be available.

Two other .380 ACP Micros have been introduced: the RCP (Refined Carry Pistol) and the DC (Deep Cover). The RCP features a smooth slide with a trench cut down the middle on top for quick targeting at close range. It has no other sights, but Crimson Trace Lasergrips are available. The Micro DC is an all-black version of the Micro with high-visibility sights.
