After 14 years of carrying the Sig Sauer P228 in 9mm, the New Jersey State Police has upgraded to the P229 Enhanced Elite in 9mm as its new duty pistol.
The decision to remain with Sig Sauer was based on the long track record of reliability, accuracy and durability, as tested by troopers in the field, according to a release. The P229 Enhanced Elite adds the one-piece enhanced ergonomic grip, which provides a better fit for a wider range of hands.
