Nighthawk 1911 Drop-In Trigger Details
The DTS installs in the time it takes to complete a routine cleaning of the 1911, according to Nighthawk. The crisp, clean break installs at home, without the need of a custom gunsmith.
“Nighthawk Custom has invested heavily into R+D for the 1911 platform over the last 15 years,” said Mark Stone, owner and CEO of Nighthawk Custom. “We are very excited about our new Drop-In Trigger for the 1911 because this is something I have always dreamed of, and it is one of the biggest areas that can be improved upon for many factory-built 1911s.”
The all-inclusive DTS replaces existing hammer, hammer strut, sear, disconnector, and sear spring. A single-leg grip safety spring, the only part not built into the housing, replaces the traditional three-legged sear spring. The existing sear and hammer pins remain, but no other parts are necessary for installation. A steel housing secures all fully machined stainless steel internal components. Machined from 416 stainless steel billets, each DTS component performs reliably for unmatched service life, according to Nighthawk.
“This is an incredibly innovative product that has been in development with Mark Dye for almost a decade,” Stone added. “Over the last two years we have thousands of hours of prototyping, research, development, and testing that allows a 1911 user the ease of improvement that has been available on other pistols and rifles for years.”
The Nighthawk DTS emerges as a long-waited industry first. It works in most 1911 models, and installation requires only minimal gunsmithing skills, according to Nighthawk. Lastly, the DTS retails for $299.99.
