Nighthawk grabbed some headlines back in April with the announcement of the company’s first full-size, double-stack pistol, the Nighthawk TRS Comp. We got the chance to get some trigger time with the new competition gun at the 2020 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. And the TRS Comp made quite the impression.
Nighthawk TRS Comp Details
The TRS Comp delivers a 17+1 capacity for competition shooters. It utilizes Nighthawk’s Fire Hawk compensator to help keep the pistol flat during recoil. A port in the compensator helps control muzzle flip, delivering faster follow-up shots, important on the range.
“This is one easy shooter,” Nighthawk Custom owner Mark Stone said. “The comp is part of the barrel system. And whenever you look and see the details of how this matches up; that’s gunsmithing, that’s craftsmanship. Not everyone offers it, because it takes a real craftsman to do it. But it shoots so smooth.”
The pistol features a match-grade 5-inch barrel within a monolithic slide. It all sits atop a government model-sized frame. A solid stainless steel trigger sports a flat, serrated face. The entire pistol comes with a black nitride finish.
Overall, we were blown away with just flat and accurate the TRS Comp proved on the range. It should no doubt prove a winner in competition. She’s a real shooter, with a price tag to match. The pistol retails for $4,599. For even more information, please visit nighthawkcustom.com.
