VIDEO: The New Nightstick TWM Series Lights the Way for LEOs

LEOs in the field have a new lighting solution in the form of Nightstick’s four all-LED Tactical Weapon Mounted (TWM) lights.

The standout feature on these Nightstick TWM rail-mounted lights is the inclusion of an ambidextrous dual-dependent toggle switch on either side in order to operate the momentary-on and constant-on modes. Having the ability to switch hands regardless of your selected lighting mode helps mitigate confusion, and you don’t need to use your fine-motor skills. When you’re in a high-stress situation that requires swift reaction time, that’s a big deal.

“Ultimately you don’t need to think about how to operate the light if you are a right handed or left handed or one hand dominate user” says Russell Hoppe, Nightstick marketing manager Russell Hoppe said in a statement. “The flaw with the outdated toggle switch is that it requires use of both hands when switching from right hand to left should you want to change lighting modes or turn-off your light. Applying additional thought because of a limiting design is extra time that high-stress situations don’t provide you. The new TWM Series from Nightstick demonstrates that great design can solve an operational struggle with the potential to save lives.”

The Nightstick TWM-850XL features 850 lumens for 1.75 hours with a beam distance of 245 meters, or 803 feet. Meanwhile, the Nightstick TWM-350 serves up 250 lumens for 2.5 hours, with a beam distance of 215 meters, or 705 feet. Two additional models, the Nightstick TWM-850XLS and TWM-350S, offer a disorienting strobe lighting mode as well.

All four lights in the Nightstick TWM series boast an aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum construction with a Type III hard anodized finish, and are rated as IP-X7 waterproof. They also come with four sets of cross-rail inserts and cap head screws, Allen wrench and 2 CR-123 lithium batteries.
