A teenage girl used her father’s rifle to scare off a trio of intruders at her parents’ home in southern Alamance County, North Carolina last week.
According to WFMY, two sisters, aged 12 and 13, were inside the home located on Lambe Road in Snow Camp at around noon on Thursday when they heard a knock on the front door.

The sisters looked outside and saw three men they didn’t recognize. In fear for their safety, the older sister grabbed her father’s rifle.
The suspects moved around to the back of the house and broke in through the back door. Upon entering the home, they were greeted by the 13-year-old girl aiming the rifle at them, which caused the men to flee the scene immediately.

“I am in awe of that young lady,” neighbor Jackie Garrison told WMFY. “To have had that kind of thoughtfulness going on in a time of crisis in her head to where that’s what she did, instead of running and hiding. She probably stopped something major from going on.”
Police are still looking for the suspects. It is believed that this incident might be connected to other break-ins in the area.
