The Guardian Angels — the international volunteer non-profit organization known for their unarmed safety patrols of city steets — will teach self-defense techniques in a meeting hosted by the Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch Coalition.

According to the Citizens’ Voice, the class will take place at 7 p.m. and will be followed by an ice cream social.

The class is taking place at the Marymount Center, located at 154 S. Hancock St., and the Wilkes-Barre chapter of the Guardian Angels will be on site to demonstrate simple self-defense techniques, said Charlotte Raup, president of Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch Coalition.
