The hot-button issue of Concealed carry will be center stage on Tuesday, Nov. 18, as Pennsylvania State Reps Matt Baker (R-Bradford/Tioga) and Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) announced plans to host a concealed carry seminar for area residents at the Troy Vet’s Club Home Association in Troy.

“This is a great opportunity for area gun owners, and potential gun owners, to learn more about the state’s concealed carry laws and other firearm-related regulations,” said Baker. “I encourage anyone who would like to attend to sign up early, as this event is expected to fill up quickly.”

“Our guest speakers have a wealth of knowledge about our state’s laws and will share with participants important details about gun ownership, especially if a firearm owner plans to travel out of state, and the legal implications when a firearm may be used to protect oneself,” Pickett said.

According to the statement posted on Baker’s website, this seminar will include the participation of Bradford County Sheriff C.J. Walters and Bradford County District Attorney Daniel Barrett. Attendees will receive information about Pennsylvania state firearm laws and how to interact with police when carrying a firearm. In addition, information will be provided about the Castle Doctrine, which enables a homeowner to use deadly force on an armed intruder.

To register for this seminar, go to www.RepBaker.com or www.RepPickett.com, or call Baker’s Troy office at 570-297-3045 or Pickett’s Towanda office at 570-265-3124.
