Primary Arms Optics MS-25 RDS 2nd Gen: Longer Runtime with AutoLive

Released in 2020, the MS-25 RDS from Primary Arms Optics was a fast industry favorite. Due to the popularity of the original, Primary Arms Optics released the ACSS with an advanced BDC reticle. However, the company was not done building on this popular platform and has now released the 2nd Generation.

Featuring a rugged aluminum construction, the MC-25 RDS Gen 2 has a hardcoat anodized finish for hard use. Likewise, all SLx optics from Primary Arms undergo rigorous field testing during development to ensure optimal performance in any environment. Additionally, the package measures only 3 inches long, with a light weight of just 6.5 ounces.

A wide, 25mm field of view helps to increase user awareness and visibility downrange. However, new for Gen 2 is an AutoLive feature that reduces the emitter’s output when the optic is still for an extended period. As a result, battery life is extended during storage. However, any slight movement will return the optic to its set output.

With 12 brightness settings, the MS-25 RDS lets you dial in the optimal brightness for low light or bright days. Likewise, a night vision-compatible setting allows for use with NV technology. The combination of brightness settings and AutoLive provide up to 50,000+ hours of operation on a single CR2032 3V battery. However, the ACSS CQB version has a battery life of 10,001 – 25,000 hours.

The optic is available in two different reticle variants. Specifically, the standard 2 MOA dot variant and the enhanced ACSS CQB variant. The ACSS CQB features a fast-acquisition horseshoe, center chevron aiming point, and ballistic drop-holdovers for the most common cartridges.

Although it is compatible with standard micro mounts, the optic ships with a next-generation ruggedized mounting system. Likewise, it includes risers and spacers for mounting to 0.96”, 1.41”, 1.54”, or 1.64” central height.

“With our hugely popular SLx MD-25, we keep hearing one request from our customers: ‘does it have AutoLive?’ We are excited to answer with our new MD-25 Gen II—now featuring AutoLive technology,” says Stephen Morgan, Director of Product Marketing at Primary Arms Optics. “Customer feedback has always been an essential part of Primary Arms Optics development, and we’re proud to demonstrate that throughout our Odyssey 2023 releases.”

The Primary Arms Optics MD-25 RDS 2nd Generation is available now with an MSRP of $149.99 – $199.99, depending on the reticle. For more info, please visit PrimaryArms.com.
