Remington celebrated the 1911’s 100th anniversary in style by introducing the R1 series of .45 ACP 1911-style pistols. Because of the pistols’ huge popularity, Remington has continued to expand the series to accommodate a variety of needs and missions from today’s shooters.
For 2015, Remington is introducing the 9mm R1 Enhanced, a full-sized, 5-inch-barreled 1911 with front and rear slide serrations, a fiber-optic front sight and adjustable rear sight, and a match grade barrel mated to the slide with a heavy-duty bushing. As for the grip frame, Remington has outfitted the 9mm R1 Enhanced with high-traction grip panels, a high-ride beavertail grip safety, a 25-lpi checkered mainspring housing. Finally, for greater precision and consistency, the 9mm R1 Enhanced has a lightened trigger and hammer.
