Hunting season is coming, and with it, growing new hunters. And often, that means investing in a smaller rifle or shotgun to fit their smaller frame and stature. For this reason, RETAY releases its Gordion Compact 20ga shotgun that grows with young hunters. However, utilizing a full-size frame and four shims, the shotgun is designed for any age or size shooter.

The RETAY Gordion Compact 20ga Shotgun

Building on a full-size 20-gauge frame, the Gordion Compact is constructed of a single piece of aluminum. Correspondingly, mated up to the receiver is the shortened stock in your choice of finish. Specifically, you can choose from Extra Black, Mossy Oak Bottomland, Realtree Max-7, ONYX, Walnut GreyCon, and Walnut Jet Black.

The overall innovation comes in the form of the adjustable length of pull for a custom fit for any size shooter. Utilizing four ¼-inch shims, the length of pull is adjustable from 12.5 to 13.5 inches. However, if you prefer, an optional full-sized Gordion stock is available and compatible with the receiver.

The Gordion Compact is built with performance features, including the deep bore drilled, Bohler steel, chrome-lined 24- or 26-inch barrel with an elongated forcing cone, and flat, hunting-style rib. Unlike hammer forging, deep bore drilling is a modern process that does not stress the barrel, affecting its integrity. As a result, is a strong, accurate barrel that provides accurate shot placement.

REATAY’s “Inertia Plus” bolt system uses a patented rollover internal torsion spring to forcefully rotate the bolt head into battery. This keeps the bolt head from being jarred out of battery for quieter closing and low bolt rattle. Correspondingly, the 3-inch chamber accepts 2 ¾ or 3-inch shells.

Featuring semi-automatic action, rounds are sent downrange via an anti-repeat system trigger. The magazine tube provides 4-round capacity of 2 ¾-inch shells, with limiter. The shotgun also comes with five choke tubes (C-IC-M-IM-F) and a choke wrench.
