For years, Rifle Dynamics has built custom “featureless” AK rifles for people living in California. Now the Nevada-based company has decided to make those same rifles part of its main production line. The series has been dubbed the “California Airlift” lineup.

The first two rifles in the Rifle Dynamics California Airlift lineup are the RD702-CA in 7.62×39 and the RD502-CA in 5.45×39. Both models feature the Generation 3 Venom Tactical front sight block/gas block combo; UltiMAK scope rail; and a permanently attached Surefire PROCOMP muzzle brake. In addition, the rifles have a 14.5-inch barrel; Aim Sports featureless AK grip; and a Fuller rear sight. These rifles are priced at $2,200, but they can also be customized at an additional charge with a ALG AKT-EL trigger; SLR Rifleworks 10.5″ rail set (M-Lok or Keymod); Krebs Custom enhanced safety (with bolt hold open); Evolution Defense Group handguard; and AK side rail installation.
The third Rifle Dynamics California Airlift rifle is the AKM-CA. Offering a more traditional setup, the AKM-CA is available in 7.62×39 with a 16-inch barrel and features black polymer furniture; tuned action and trigger;, standard muzzle device; Fuller rear sight mod; Aim Sports featureless AK grip; premium finish and a side rail mount for optics. Various customizing options are available for $50. MSRP: $1,450.
