A team of gun writers met in early October at the Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous to get some hands-on time with several gun industry companies, checking out new products for 2020. One of the companies on hand was Riton Optics, with four new models, the X7 Conquer Series, that had to be kept hush-hush until New Year’s Day 2020.

Riton X7 Conquer Series
The company, a relative newcomer in the optics market, was familiar to this writer. Riton sent me its earliest version of its first focal plane 4-32×56 for evaluation. I made a few suggestions and a few weeks later Riton shipped its new X7 Conquer 4-32×56 first focal plane MRAD optic that checked all the boxes. I spent the summer swapping this optic from one rifle to the next with excellent results. It wasn’t until I was in Idaho and met with Tony Tarantino, Riton’s new Marketing Manager, that I learned I had been shooting an early evaluation version of its 2020 optic.
For those who don’t recognize them, Riton Optics is a company packed with military and law enforcement families, hunters, competitive shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts who wholeheartedly believe in the Second Amendment. “When I was a kid growing up in Montana, we hunted to put dinner on our table,” Riton Founder and CEO Brady Speth said. “The quality tools needed to do that were not always affordable for us. The creation of Riton and the core of the company is based on that very passion to provide people with the quality they need and the service they deserve at a price they can afford.”
The following four optics are new for 2020, and all feature first focal plane optics.
X7 Conquer 4-32×56 MRAD
As previously mentioned, I’ve had plenty of trigger time with Riton’s X7 Conquer 4-32×56. In addition to its high top-end magnification, it’s a first focal plane optic with MRAD adjustments housed inside a 34mm tube. It features an illuminated Precision Shooting Reticle with MIL hashes for elevation and windage. The reticle is also illuminated red with six levels of brightness and On/Off between each level. Another handy feature is its tactical zero stop turrets.
The key features of the Conquer series of scopes start in a “clean room” with a dry argon purge and state-of-the-art seals to keep what belongs inside in place and what doesn’t belong out. Riton’s high-density glass delivers a claimed 99.5-percent light transmission with extra low dispersion for an enhanced color spectrum. Incorporating proprietary fully multi-coated lenses, all Riton optics feature low light enhancement, full wide band, anti-scratch and anti-reflective coatings. These scopes are rugged. They are built tough like an AR-15, with the same 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum that’s CNC-machined and gets a Type III hard coat anodize. As expected in a MIL scope, this one has 1/10th MIL adjustments, and it’s got 31 MRADs of adjustment. This optic will add 37 ounces to your shooting rig.
X7 Conquer 3-24×56 MRAD
This optic offers a slight variation to the previously mentioned optic. In addition to its 3-24X power range, it has an ODEN reticle in MILs that’s illuminated. It’s also got a 34mm tube, and tips the scales at 35 ounces.
X7 Conquer 3-24×50 MOA
With a slightly smaller objective lens, the 3-24×50 still packs many of the previously mentioned features into a smaller package. It’s 13.62 inches long, and weighs 34.1 ounces. Its ¼-MOA adjustments take you through 134 MOA of adjustment. It also has an illuminated G7 reticle, and zero stop turrets.
X7 Conquer 3-18×50
This model features a T3 reticle, and since it has lower magnification, is capable of 158 MOA of adjustment in ¼-MOA increments. This unit measures 13.62 inches and weighs 31 ounces.
