The AR-15 is one of the most popular rifles in the country. It is also extremely customizable. So, it is no surprise that manufacturers started bringing out pistol versions of this gun. This includes Ruger, which has now expanded its line of these guns by introducing a .300 Blackout AR-556 Pistol.

The Ruger AR-556 Pistol line features a 10.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel with a 1:7-inch twist. It also comes with a pistol-length gas system designed to reliably function with both supersonic and subsonic rounds. As such, Ruger tuned this pistol to run with a wide variety of ammunition, both with and without a suppressor. This is an important feature in a .300 Blackout gun, especially since the round was designed around suppressors.
Ruger also used an adjustable SB Tactical SBA3 Pistol Stabilizing Brace for stability and accuracy. This brace features a minimalist design and integral QD sling sockets. This makes the brace both light and easy to use in a variety of situations. The pistol also boasts a 9-inch aluminum free-float handguard with Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment slots for easy user customization. The company even marked both the dust cover and magazine with the caliber for easy identification.
Those who already own an AR-15 rifle or two might want to consider an AR-15 pistol. These guns are shorter and lighter than a rifle, but contain the same firepower. Most also work with the same accessories, allowing crossover between platforms. This basically means that these pistols just might be the most customizable that are available to shooters.
