“Our customers have been craving high-end performance variations of our popular models for a long time,” said Chris Killoy, Ruger president and CEO. “We are thrilled to respond to the call and bring the Ruger Custom Shop to fruition. We are confident that these new products represent the very best in craftsmanship and performance.”

The Custom Shop will offer refinement and attention to detail expected from a company like Ruger. In fact, the Custom Shop will feature exclusive collectible, competition, hunting and personal defense firearms for discriminating shooters.

Ruger Custom Shop SR1911 Competition Pistol

The first firearm offered by the Ruger Custom Shop is the SR1911 Competition Pistol. Working with competitive shooter Doug Koenig, Ruger designed this full-size 9mm pistol for competitive shooting. This includes IDPA, IPSC, USPSA, Bianchi Cup, Pro Am Shooting and Steel Challenge disciplines.

“I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Ruger’s first-class engineers to develop this pistol,” said Doug Koenig, Team Ruger Captain. “New and accomplished competition shooters alike will find this to be one of the finest, feature-rich 1911 pistols available. This firearm was designed and built to win.”

The SR1911 Competition Pistol features the precision-machined Koenig Shooting Sports low-mass hammer and competition sear. They are combined with a custom flat-faced trigger shoe, precision-machined disconnector and hand-tuned sear spring, so shooters can expect a crisp, clean trigger pull.

Ruger hand fits the slide and frame to provide a tight but smooth action. The competition barrel features a polished feed ramp, fitted barrel lug, target crown and 1:16-inch slow twist for accuracy with lighter match bullets. It also comes with a black-nitrided, stainless-steel frame that features 25 lines-per-inch checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing. The Hogue G10 Piranha grip panels provides excellent purchase, and the trigger guard is undercut and blended. This provides a comfortable, high hold to reduce muzzle flip.

Additionally, the slide comes with an anti-glare, black-nitrided top and precision serrations. These reduce glare when aiming and make manipulations easier. They also give the gun a two-tone appearance.

The SR1911 Competition also features a TechWell magazine well, ambidextrous safety, a fiber-optic front sight, adjustable rear target sight, beavertail safety and an extended magazine release. Shooters can purchase the SR1911 Competition pistol for $2,499.

Ruger Custom Shop 10/22 Competition

The 10/22 Competition Rifle features a hard-coat anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6511 aluminum receiver. It also comes with integral 30 MOA Picatinny rail for mounting optics. Ruger paired the custom receiver with a 4140, heat treated and nitrided, match CNC-machined bolt to create a tight-fitting, smooth action on one of its most popular rifle designs.

Ruger fluted the 16.12-inch barrel to reduce weight and dissipate heat. Additionally, the threaded barrel accommodates the included muzzle brake or other barrel accessories.

The painted and textured laminated stock provides a sure grip. The stock also features a fully adjustable cheek rest for a custom feel when shooting. However, one of the most interesting features is that the receiver has a rear cleaning port that allows access for easier cleaning.

“The 10/22 has been a mainstay in our lineup for over 50 years and has seen countless variations,” said Killoy. “Our skilled team of engineers took a ground-up approach to further enhancing our proven design and taking the already legendary performance and reliability of the 10/22 to a new level.”

The Ruger 10/22 Competition is available for $899.
