Ruger Hogue Max-9 Micro Compact Combines Dependability with Comfort

Earlier this year Ruger joined the “micro compact” club with their Max-9 and its 13-round capacity—with extended magazine. Recently Ruger teamed up with Hogue to add another level of comfort and performance to the Max-9.

The Ruger Max-9 packs a striker-fire action, with smooth trigger pull into a small, micro compact frame. Perfect for personal defensive concealed carry, the micro compact package is slim and lightweight. The clean break and positive reset ensure flawless performance with every round.

Although it comes with two 10-round flush plate magazines, you can upgrade to 12-round magazines for 13 round capacity. However, there is an available grip extension floorplate if you like the 10-round capacity but need a little more grip. The magazine release is reversible, making it accessible to lefties.

The magazine release on the Ruger Max-9 Hogue is reversible for right- or left-hand use.

The Max-9 comes with a Tritium fiber optic front sight perfect for reliable visibility day or night. However, if you prefer the slide is also optics ready, accepting co-witnessed JPoint and Shield-pattern micro red dot sights.

What sets the Ruger Max-9 Hogue apart from the original release earlier this year is the Hogue grip sleeve. The Hogue Beavertail HandALL grip sleeve features Cobblestone texturing, finger grooves and gentle palm swells. Providing increased comfort while shooting, the Beavertail cushions the hand on recoil and offers comfortable ergonomics, higher on the grip.
