Jeff Quinn Memorial GP100: Ruger Honors Late Gunblast.com Creator

Jeff Quinn earned a place among the great gunwriters of our industry. And he did it in the most unlikely, unique way. Quinn’s Gunblast.com created a new vehicle for gun reviews, shooting and knowledge. And Ruger now honors his passing with the Jeff Quinn Memorial GP100.

Ruger Jeff Quinn Memorial GP100

A collaboration with Lipsey’s and Gunblast.com, the Jeff Quinn Memorial GP100 is special. It comprises a polished blued GP100 chambered in .44 Special. The revolver features a Hogue walnut grip engraved with Jeff’s signature. It even comes complete with his dual-braided beard motif.

A high-polish stainless hammer and trigger mate with a non-fluted cylinder. A 4.20-inch half-lug barrel and gold bead front sight give it a classic look. Quinn served as a longtime Ruger proponent, and this revolver embodies much of what Jeff loved about Ruger guns. Finally, the revolver sports a special serial number, starting with Jeff’s initials (JQ-000 through JQ-500).

Ruger and Lipsey’s will done a portion of the proceeds from each revolver to an organization Jeff supported–Bikers Who Care (BWC). The organization supports the Clarksville, Tennessee-based The Dream Factory, which fully sponsors Camp Rainbow. The summer camp hosts seriously ill children. Jeff supported BWC and its mission with all his heart, according to Ruger.

Quinn pioneered outdoor comms with his Gunblast.com. His persona, complete with his dual-braid beard, broke the mold. But he also delivered solid writing and an impressive command of firearm knowledge. He remains sorely missed. And this Ruger tribute revolver honors all he did for the industry.

Marlin Rifles Coming Spring 2021

In other news, Ruger announced a record fourth quarter for 2020, as the run on guns continues unabated. Even better, the company gave an update on Marlin.

“We look forward to launching new products that are sure to create excitement among shooters and we are hard at work getting the Marlin manufacturing cells established and look forward to broadening our catalog of rugged, reliable, and exciting products with the addition of Marlin lever action rifles in late 2021,” said CEO Christopher J. Killoy.

Also a new release for spring 2021 is the Ruger Max-9 pistol. It features 10+1 flush fit and 12+1 extended capacity. It looks like a serious option in the micro compact pistol market.
