Sequels can be big hits or big disappointments. “Terminator 2” was fantastic. “Predator 2”? Not so much. But when Ruger produces a follow-up, the world notices, and the Ruger LCP II is a sequel worth checking out.
For starters, there’s a new trigger system (including a blade-style trigger safety) that feels like a single action. Then there’s a sculpted, easy-to-rack slide that locks back after the last round is fired. Lastly, we have a completely redesigned grip frame with better texturing that allows shooters to get more hand on the gun. This model has taken the LCP platform to a whole new level.

The gun also has taller sights, a loaded-chamber indicator, and front and rear slide serrations. What’s not to like? On top of it all, this little .380 weighs only 10.6 ounces unloaded. The LCP II is lightyears beyond the original LCP, and we couldn’t be more impressed.
