The Ruger 10/22 is one of the best and most popular small-bore rifles available to shooters. However, now the company has improved on the design with the Ruger Modular Stock System.

The Compact 10/22 with the Ruger Modular Stock System contains all of the features of the venerable .22 LR rifle. This includes its legendary action that provides extremely reliable performance. It also features a cross-bolt manual safety and an extended magazine release.
Additionally, its 10-round magazine, which is patented, features a unique rotor to separate cartridges and provide reliable feeding. It also mounts flush to the rifle, which eliminates unsightly bulges. The compact rifle even features fiber-optics on both the front and rear sights, which provide visibility in low-light conditions.
Now the 10/22 Compact typically comes with a 12.5-inch length of pull and a low comb to fit smaller shooters. However, the Modular Stock System allows shooters to purchase additional modules to increase both comb height and length of pull. This allows the rifle to grow with shooters, or simply adjust for clothing.
Regardless of reason for the adjustment, Ruger has, once again, made improvements on a rifle seems almost perfect. Other models of the Ruger 10/22 include carbine, tactical, target and sporter, with various models for each. The company even makes a takedown version, in multiple models, that easily breaks down for convenient storage.
