The classic Ruger No. 1 single-shot series has expanded with two rifles in .308 Win and .450 Marlin, as well as two Lipsey’s Distributor Exclusive models chambered in .30-30 Winchester and .257 Roberts. The No. 1 is already available in .450 Bushmaster, .30-06 Springfield, .243 Winchester, .44 Remington Magnum, .35 Whelen, .204 Ruger and 6.5 Creedmoor.

Ruger No. 1 Rifles

As with all Ruger No. 1 rifles, these four models have a falling-block breech mechanism with “artillery-style breechblock and under-lever” that the company says is designed to handle more powerful cartridges. In addition, the rifles also feature a sliding tang safety; cold hammer-forged barrel; integral scope mounts machined directly on the steel quarter rib; ejector mechanism that offers maximum leverage where the ejector engages the cartridge case and is adjustable for extraction only; and a sporting-style recoil pad, grip cap and sling swivel studs.

The four new Ruger No. 1 rifles all boast an American Walnut stock and satin blued finish. The barrel length is 22 inches for .308 Win and .30-30 Win (both with a 1:10″ RH twist), and 20 inches in .450 Marlin (1:16″ RH twist) and .257 Roberts (1:10″ RH twist). Consequently, overall length is either 36.50 inches or 38.50 inches, depending on the model you choose. In addition, the .308 Win, .30-30 Win and .257 Roberts all weigh in at exactly seven pounds. The .450 Marlin tips the scales at a little over seven pounds.
