“All hail the six-gun; may it live forever!” That sentiment, at least in some form, must surely be woven into the current mission statement over at Ruger. Because the company just keeps turning out quality, rimfire single-action revolvers, and just the very ones the public seems to want most. Such is the case with its latest, the Ruger Super Wrangler, bringing the .22 WMR into the family.
Ruger Super Wrangler Convertible in .22 WMR
Better still, the new variant comprises a convertible offering. Shipping with two cylinders, shooters can swap out between .22 LR and .22 WMR. Building on an affordable line of revolvers, the convertible design enables shooters to practice or play with low-cost .22 LR ammo. When it’s time to carry or hunt, simply switch over to .22 WMR. The steel cylinder frame handles the hotter cartridge with ease.

The Ruger Wrangler continues building on the success of the Ruger Single-Six family of revolvers. The Super Wrangler comes in one of three Cerakote finishes: black, silver or bronze. It features an adjustable target sight and a 5.5-inch barrel. The standard checkered black grip panels swap out for Single-Six panels, adding to the custom appeal. The Super Wrangler also fits in holsters accommodating 5.5-inch barrels. The platform works from a unique cylinder, non-interchangeable with aluminum-frame Wrangler or Single-Six Convertible cylinders, according to Ruger.
The Super Wrangler retails for $329. For even more info, please visit ruger.com.

Editor’s Note:
We’re big fans around here of these sporty little single-action revolvers. Ruger continues hitting home runs with the Wrangler line, possibly none bigger than this new convertible. The .22 WMR continues with its diehard following. Some folks demand a magnum rimfire for trail riding, camping, small-game hunting and the like. It’s a wonderful little cartridge. Offering this popular platform in the .22 WMR, with the ability to swap out to .22 LR, what a great addition to the line. We’ll be getting one in for serious testing real soon.
