Earlier this year, Safariland released its Liberator HP-R rechargeable hearing protection (below). An upgrade to the HP model, the HP-R added recharging capabilities and a host of colorways and patterns. Now, just in time for the 4th of July, Safariland offers the HP-R in an exclusive “We the People” theme.

With multiple colorways and patterns to choose from, you are able to get the model that suits you best. However, in celebration of Independence Day, the company is offering the exclusive “We the People” pattern.

The new hydro dip pattern features the “We the People” script in various placements over an FDE canvas. Likewise, subdued stars and stripes round out the theme, setting the patriotic backdrop. All controls, cables, and suspension are black, providing a contrasting aesthetic.

“Liberators are designed, engineered, and assembled with excellence right here in the USA,” said James Imhoff, GM of Communications for Safariland. “The We The People hydrodip launch is timed with Independence Day to highlight the celebration of America’s freedom. We’re thrilled to offer this limited-edition Liberator headset, born and built in our great Nation and chosen by so many first responders and shooting enthusiasts.”

On April 17, 2023, Personal Defense World reported:

You only get one set of ears, and protecting them should be as important as proper firearm selection. For this reason, digital hearing protection has continued to increase in quality and function over the years. One of the better features is audio enhancement so that you can hear range commands, conversations, or game. And now, Safariland offers all the great technology of digital hearing protection in a rechargeable package with the Liberator HP-R.

Like the rest of the Liberator line, the HP-R features first-of-its-kind multi-mode adjustability. This includes Active Noise Reduction (ANR) and Active Noise Cancellation simultaneously. In addition, the HP-R includes three distinct hearing protection modes. These include:

  • Enhanced Mode – This blocks dangerous impulse noise, while enhancing nearby speech and audio
  • Move Mode – This blocks all external noise
  • Clarity Mode – This blocks all external noise, while enhancing nearby speech and audio

The slim earcup design is layered with sound barrier technology for the ultimate in hearing protection. Likewise, it features industry-leading sound localization, according to the company. As a result, it offers maximum situational awareness and sound detection. When it comes to hearing conversations and ambient sounds, high-definition speakers with enhanced electronics help provide clarity.

New to the Liberator line is the ability to recharge your hearing pro. Utilizing the USB-C charging port, the HP-R can operate for up to 60 hours on a single charge. However, advanced shutoff technology ensures that the unit shuts off after a period of inactivity to help preserve battery life. Additionally, an IP-68 waterproof rating provides protection when submerged in 1.5 meters of water for a half hour. So they can withstand whatever elements you may subject them to.
